A simple concept which requires precise and thoughtful design and almost always a considerable amount of creative landscaping around the pool to build a suitable setting - think dripping grotto or pillared gazebo in the classical mould.
Contemplation pools are all about depth. A Contemplation pool can be designed to fit into even the smallest space provided that the space enhances, or can be made to enhance, the tranquillity of the pool.

Like the Contemplation pool, an Infinity pond must be sited and built with care.
Infinity ponds are all about surface area and reflection. An Infinity pond must be long enough and situated properly to blend sky and water along at least one of its rims. For this reason alone, Infinity ponds are probably not suited to most small gardens. There is, of course, an exception where the smaller garden is in an elevated position.
